Argon is generally used when TIG welding stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminium – it can also be used on a MIG welder for aluminium and alloys in conjunction with the correct MIG wire. For more suitable MIG gases, see Hobbyweld 5 or 15.
Argon is typically suitable for most TIG welding applications providing a capability of welding at any depth.
The repair of alloy wheels, farming equipment, vehicle body panels, model work and metals used for aircraft are among many of Argon’s popular uses; however, it is also used in many applications that you wouldn’t expect, such as filling the gap between your double glazing and the space in a light bulb.
Description
The Hobbyweld Cylinder Deposit is a one-off, refundable charge – paid alongside the gas fill for your first cylinder. There is no limit to how long you keep the cylinder and you can exchange it as often or as little as you like.
If you need to return the cylinder, take it to any Hobbyweld stockist for a refund (note: You will need your deposit form and a small admin charge applies).
A cost effective alternative for occasional use when compared to monthly or annual rental charges.
